Porky the Poet

Not just a ranter, Porky the Poet, is a talented cartoonist. He drew for many ‘zines, books and records in the 80s and still turns out some fine work today.
Here he tells the story of how he became a ranting poet.
I’ve been gigging with Porky for over 30 years now, which is quite frightening in itself. The first gig I did in 2013 was also the first Bang said the Gun! of the year and it was exciting to be playing the best poetry night with an old and solid mate. Though neither of us do much poetry in the ranting style these days we still gig a lot and bring some social comment, anger, and humour to our work.
Porky is a cornerstone of Stand Up and Spit and has been donating ‘zines and memories. There’ll be more from him as the blog develops.
