The Jam – Pop Art Poem

Here’s a rare Jam number that came when Paul Weller was getting poetic. It was released as a flexidisc, floppy vinyl for the young people, with the 2nd issue of Flexipop magazine in February of 1981. It was recorded the previous year.

It’s one of the stranger Jam records and Weller did the odd poetry gig in the 80s.
It later turned up on the Jam album Extras in 1992.
Roy Lichtenstein’s paintings made quite an impact with the Mod revivalists of ’79 as can be heard on this.
