2000AD was one of the great British comics. It started in 1977 and had a sci-fi edge to it. It took the playgrounds by storm, especially with their main character Judge Dredd.
It had the violence, and shared many artists, of the war comics we’d been reading previously. There was a distinct ‘punk’ anti-authoritarian attitude to the comic.
Tharg the Mighty was the ‘editor’ of the comic
