Hope and Anchor

The Hope and Anchor was home to great music from pub rock to punk, 2-Tone and on. It sat on Upper Street in Islington and it’s tiny size belies the size of sounds you’d have heard therein.
This review from the NME, 22nd November, 1980 has some of the top bands of the day, in a pub.
