Attak were a punk band, formed in June 1980 and are based in New Mills Derbyshire. That’s the same town that Oi big hitters Blitz were from. Attak’s drummer Lindsay Mclennan was the sister of Blitz’s Mackie. They also featured Gary Basnett on guitar and Sean “Chad” Chadwick on bass.

The Oi/Punk scene at the time didn’t have too many women, even less who weren’t singers.
The band weren’t exactly innovative but if a Blitz styled, fuzz powered, anger fuelled grind was what you wanted then Attak did it, loudly.

They had a couple of singles and an album with No Future records, and a few compilation appearances too.
They split in 1984. Lindsay married Gary and they have a fair few kids.
